3. Social goal of the project To strengthen social and professional position of rural women in the district of Kolbuszowa.

- revival of declining occupations as one
of the methods of survival and escaping unemployment,
- strengthening position of rural women in the town and district of Kolbuszowa,
- building up women's awareness and self-confidence
- supporting local government and institutions in their efforts to preserve cultural heritage of the area,
- providing women with the necessary legal and economic competence and computer literacy, in addition to practical handicraft skills,
- establishing a group of rural female leaders, able to and prepared to create and carry out future projects for rural development.

8. Effect of the action / co-operation on the final outcome of the project 1. Co-operation between local government and non-governmental organisations, including the District Administration. Provision of funds from the District Administration in Kolbuszowa for the work of the Centre and extensive help in identification of local needs.
2. Establishing the "Rural Education Centre" in Kolbuszowa.
3. Support from local government bodies, the District Administration and the Poviat Employment Office, in choosing local personnel to work with the project.
4. The Poviat Employment Office - one unemployed woman to be employed as the project realisation animator with the authority for intervention work.
9. Has the project brought about change and what are the benefits for the equality of men and women?

10. How has it become easier for women to access this investment project?
  1. Women's position in their local community became stronger.
  2. Female leaders who continue the work were selected and trained.
  3. Integration of women's circles (rural women's clubs) and folk artists contributed to new ideas for preventing unemployment (an open-air museum,
    an entrepreneurship think tank,
    a gallery, e-trade, etc.).
  4. New distribution channels for local products appeared - influencing other people in the community. Distribution has become possible for both women and men.
11. Effect of the actions taken
on the cost of the project
Due to inclusiveness of NGOs, plus the involvement of local government and institutions, the contribution required was made possible. Further practical help made it possible to carry out additional undertakings.

New funds for development were secured.

13. Other initiatives which include NGO's, groups of citizens and organizations working for equality.
  • Due to the project, small opportunities for women on the labour market became possible. Thanks to the results of the project, there has been a significant improvement in the quality of the decision - making process.
  • Politicians from local and regional government were made aware equality for women and have undertaken cooperation actively.
  • Possibility of continuing the education programme and development of new projects with Country Centre of Agricultural Consulting, Country Centre of Agricultural Consulting, Poviat Centre of Agricultural Consulting, Entrepreneurship Think Tank, District Administration.
  • Social consequences of unemployment were noticed and counter acted (helplessness, vulnerability, poverty, marginalization, etc.).
  • Women participating in the project are planning to continue cooperation with the local self-government and have already participated in local activities.
  • At present social problems are discussed with local people and NGOs, among them those working to improve women's chances on the labour market. Local government grants were obtained to organise courses on changing occupation and retraining.
  • Female representatives of organisations and of an informal group participate in consultancy with the local government concerning decisions on labour market policies.
  • A gallery of local handicrafts has been opened and offers new jobs for local people.
